Round Robin
A round robin is a tournament format where each team competes against every other participant at least once. Unlike a Group Stage, there are no multiple groups, everyone competes on equal footing
It is important to note the distinction between the Americano and Round Robin format, as some people mistakenly use the term interchangeably. You can read more about the Americano format here.
✅ How it works
-
All teams are placed into one group.
-
Each team plays every other team once.
-
Standings are based on:
-
Matches won
-
Set or game difference
-
Head-to-head results
-
-
The final ranking determines the winner (or top positions).
🎯 Why choose it
-
Extremely fair, with no lucky draws
-
Great for accurate rankings
-
Everyone plays the same number of matches
⚠️ Things to consider
-
Becomes time-consuming with many teams
-
Less dramatic than knockout formats
-
Best suited for smaller events
